About Us

Delta GREENS team members and community partners gathered for a group photo at a meeting or event. Delta GREENS is a Food Is Medicine (FIM) project rooted in the Mississippi Delta, connecting local farmers, health centers, and researchers to test if FIM programming improves health. 

Mission

Delta GREENS aims to strengthen both the local food economy and community health in the Mississippi Delta through three goals: 

  1. Invest in local farmers to support vegetable and fruit production
  2. Implement a community-centered Food Is Medicine program
  3. Rigorously evaluate its impact on health and share lessons learned
